MY RECENT COLLECTIONS
Keep Up With My Latest Work
A fabulously textured glaze that reacts in a high temperature kiln firing. Colours can be tailored to individual requests.
Organic shapes with flowing edges that offer a fragility despite the strength of the fired clay.
Beach combing and beach flotsam washed up by the sea are the inspiration for original work. Drawings, sketches and small clay maquettes develop ideas further before making into large scale sculptures. The clay maquettes form installations in their own right, displayed as collections in vintage printers drawers. All this knowledge and groundwork gained over the years is now used to make sculptures subconsciously, ideas backing up with not enough hours in the day to realise all the wonderful creations going on in the thought process!
NEW DESIGNS AND GLAZES
New sculptures would have been on show at Oxford Ceramics Fair 24th-25th October 2020 but while we wait for shows and exhibitions to start again, please contact me to discuss my work and commissions. New work explores the contrast of textured clay and glazes sitting alongside the smooth tranquility of organic flow. As in life, we have to ride the rough with the smooth. Heavily grogged clay and smooth handbuilding clay are combined in the same sculpture to replicate this contrast.
