KATHERINE STAPLES CERAMICS
Katherine Staples makes free standing, wall mounted, indoor and outdoor ceramic sculptures for commissions and exhibition.
My work does not replicate nature, but has similarities. Inspired by the natural world it captures nature's energy, movement and forms. More specifically natural forms that have an association with the sea and items left behind by the sea on the beach. Contemporary shapes are hand built using traditional methods with an emphasis on form and fragile flowing edges, creating a personal interpretation of natural forms. Energy flows directly into each piece incorporating spirit and mood, swallowing emotions and thoughts as each piece grows.
WALL HUNG CERAMIC SCULPTURES
Wall hung sculptures. Each piece is bespoke and hand built as a single sculpture or commissioned as multiple pieces designed to be hung together to form a dramatic focal point to any space.
CERAMIC SCULPTURES FOR INDOOR OR OUTDOOR DISPLAY
Sculptures can be designed and created to sustain outdoor weather creating a bespoke focal point in your garden.

Realistically its looking like classes will have to be postponed until after Easter but we will have to wait and see, fingers crossed we will be able to start again soon. In 2020 we managed to have lots of fun with clay, making pinch pots, slab building, hand building, press moulding, throwing on the wheel and glazing all the wonderful creations that students produced. If you're interested in coming along for a play with clay, please get in touch. Fingers crossed for a healthy and creative 2021 xx
Thank you for your interest. For any inquiries, commission requests or information about joining a class or tuition please contact Katherine Staples.
