KATHERINE STAPLES CERAMICS
Katherine Staples is opening a new clay studio and gallery on the edge of Rutland, Leicestershire and the Vale of Belvoir. Pottery classes run all year round suitable for all ages and abilities. Exciting news! Katherine Staples Clay Studio and Gallery is opening 28th March 2024 at Wymondham Windmill LE14 2BU. There will be lots of clay courses to take part in and a new gallery selling bespoke handmade pieces to get you inspired.
New timetable for classes starting w/c 15th April:
Monday 10-12am 12.30-2.30pm 3-5pm 6.30-8.30pm all 6 week courses suitable for all levels
Tuesday 1-3pm 3.30-5.30pm 6.30-8.30pm all 6 week courses suitable for all levels
Wednesday 12.30-2.30 throwing taster session
Thursday 10-12pm handbuilding with an emphasis on surface decoration 6 week course
Friday 10-12 handbuilding taster session

CERAMIC SCULPTURES
My work does not replicate nature, but has similarities. Inspired by the natural world it captures nature's energy, movement and forms. More specifically natural forms that have an association with the sea and items left behind by the sea on the beach. Contemporary shapes are hand built using traditional methods with an emphasis on form and fragile flowing edges, creating a personal interpretation of natural forms. Energy flows directly into each piece incorporating spirit and mood, swallowing emotions and thoughts as each piece grows. Katherine Staples Gallery is opening on 28th March at Wymondham Windmill. We have some incredibly talented people who will be displaying their work within the gallery. There will be a selection of ceramics, photographic art, paintings and jewellery. The gallery offers you an opportunity to buy from makers and artists, ideal for special treats to yourself and perfect gifts for friends and family. We want everyone to feel welcome in the gallery, come and see our plinths made from the old sails of Whissendine Windmill. Come and hear about the artists and what inspires them to create and hopefully you will feel inspired and even fancy a go at pottery yourself in the studio next door.

Sculptures can be designed and created to sustain outdoor weather creating a bespoke focal point in your garden.

Pottery courses and classes run all year round. Katherine Staples Clay Studio and Gallery will be opening very soon at Wymondham Windmill, LE14 and in the meantime we continue to make our creations at my home studio in Whissendine, LE15.
